Opportunity Village to Celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month This March

$100,000 fundraising campaign, Hoops Hoopla NCAA Basketball Bracket return

LAS VEGAS (February 27, 2025) – Opportunity Village is gearing up for a big March and, for those looking to participate in the NCAA basketball tournament brackets while supporting a good cause, OV has the stuff. Help OV raise $100,000 and have fun while doing so during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

There are three easy ways to participate:

  • Donate at SupportOV.org. Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is the perfect time to make your support of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities known. Donate today and help OV reach its March fundraising goal of $100,000.
  • Register for OV’s Hoops Hoopla contest. OV has the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament brackets and registration is open from March 1-20. For more information or to register, visit SupportOV.org.
  • Support local businesses helping OV fundraise. From Feb. 23-March 1, $5 from every MVP service at Sport Clips on 7260 W. Lake Mead Blvd. will be donated to OV. Then, from 1-3 p.m. on Mar. 30, Kendra Scott at Downtown Summerlin will donate 20 percent of each purchase when Opportunity Village is mentioned. For those who can’t make it in person, use discount code GIVEBACK-ILZAU online on Mar. 30 and 31 for 20 percent of the total purchase to go to OV.

“March is one of the most important months of the year for Opportunity Village, shining a light on the people we serve,” said Bob Brown, president and CEO of Opportunity Village. “As we lift them and share their stories this month, we hope the community comes together to support OV and have a little fun with us in the process.”

Since 1954, Opportunity Village has served people with disabilities in the Southern Nevada community. Today, OV offers residential housing, direct employment, workforce training, direct employment, day habilitation, and enrichment activities across four major campuses, a neighborhood club, and more than 60 community partner sites.
