Who We Are
Since 1954, Opportunity Village has been dedicated to helping people with disabilities find the very best version of themselves. Through workforce development, community employment, day services, inclusive housing, arts and social recreation, they are able to find new friends, realize future career paths, seek independence and community integration, and unleash creative passions. Opportunity Village thrives with the funding from our social enterprises, signature events and the generous philanthropy of our donors and community partners. Together, we are successfully empowering, employing, and serving people with disabilities – positively impacting lives.
Opportunity Village operates across four campuses in the Las Vegas Valley. Inside those walls, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoy day habilitation programs, workforce training, and direct employment. Opportunity Village also operates a thrift store and a neighborhood club, which is a smaller version of the large campuses. OV also provides workforce training and direct employment at more than 60 community partner sites through our programs and business services. In addition, OV hosts some of the most popular special events and fundraisers in Las Vegas, including the Magical Forest, HallOVeen, and the Las Vegas Great Santa Run.
In 2023, OV contributed $23.2 million in direct wages and salaries to staff and those served. One-third of OV’s employees identify as having a disability, and Opportunity Village is the largest employer of people living with disabilities in Nevada. In the last five years, it is estimated that OV has saved Nevada taxpayers $103 million, demonstrating OV’s efficiency and sustainability as a world-class leader.
Our organization is almost entirely self-funded. Nearly 70 percent of our funding comes from our business contracts, donors and fundraising events like the Magical Forest and the Las Vegas Great Santa Run. Because of this, the people Opportunity Village serves do not pay a dime for any of the myriad programs and services we provide.
