Programs and Services

Opportunity Village believes that people with intellectual disabilities and their families should be in control when it comes to where and how they are served. We provide rehabilitation options to suit different needs and levels of care.
We have two care options available:

• PRIDE: serves people with very profound physical and intellectual disabilities who require 24-hour care and supervision; and
• Enable: supports people with severe intellectual and physical disabilities, allowing each to participate in a variety of activities and rehabilitative initiatives.

Our tailored employment services focus on breaking down barriers preventing individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities from finding and keeping employment. In our experience, we often find simple modifications or accommodations are needed. Then a person with a disability can perform their job functions at the same level as a person without disabilities.

• Job Discovery Program: delivers on-the-job training, ensuring positive outcomes for the employee and employer. We developed a teaching, placing and coaching framework to boost confidence and increase employability skills – both the worker and business benefit. It’s a win-win!
• Assessments: if you are helping your loved one find their first job or aren’t sure what job would be suitable, we can help. For over 10 years, our Assessments team has evaluated job readiness in Southern Nevada.

We work with the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Clark County School District and several other community partners. So, if you are connected to other services, it can be a simple step to our Assessments area.

Giving young people the tools to opportunities to grow and learn is a vital step in improving the future outcomes of those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We have three types of assistance available:

• Autism Treatment and Assistance Program (ATAP): designed to assist parents and caregivers with the funding to pay for Autism specific treatment for their loved ones. ATAP funds evidence-based practices that have been proven effective by empirical data.
• Very Important Arts (VIA) Program: provides opportunities for artistic expression in art, music, dance, and more for children with disabilities ages 3-22. Students learn from qualified Music and Movement Mentors.
• Job Discovery Program: a work-readiness program operated jointly by Opportunity Village and the Clark County School District. The program helps students with disabilities referred for vocational training in a natural working environment with the outcome of being competitively employed.

Our arts and recreation programs encourage creative and performing arts activities for people of all levels of ability – and it’s a chance to have loads of fun. Whether you are interested in honing fine and performing arts skills or enjoying our fully accessible playground for adults, we have something for everyone.

• Fine & Performing Arts:  promotes self-expression, social interaction and the development of peer relationships through various art forms. The program aims to increase people’s awareness of the arts, support their creative passions and offer individualized and group training.
• Sean’s Park: an accessible and inclusive playground set over 2.5 acres for local Southern Nevadans with intellectual disabilities to enjoy. It’s a space for building relationships, spending time with peers, developing hobbies, having fun, and learning new skills

Betty’s Village aims to create an independent community for people to live active and engaging lives and reach their full potential.

The colorful residential buildings are townhouse-style and face the center of the community. The design evokes a friendly community feel where residents gather socially on their front porches creating a warm sense of community.

There’s even a Clubhouse to inspire residents to connect and socialize at the gym, pool or spa. Plus, multi-purpose and meeting spaces bring residents together for special events to promote a sense of inclusion.

Each residential unit features a covered front porch that opens to a sidewalk lined with street trees. Follow the path to discover a small-town walkable community atmosphere.
